Hello! I've stopped reading QAF fanfiction, or at least reading it regularly, some time ago. But when I saw that you are writing a story with a PC theme, I had to read it. I've seen only one finished story with this theme before and another one abandoned, both I really liked. This is great too. I like the slow pace, the protective Brian, and that Justin is gaining trust in Brian gradually. Also I love BJ and I love dealing with political and social justice issues, and although it's a work of fiction, it still gets more to me than any other story. It would be great if fighting the PC practices on a broader area than between B. and J. were described too. I'm waiting impatiently where you will take it!

Welcome back to the fandom, Astrid! Glad you like this so far. And, yes, I do plan to use this story to deal with some real life social issues like discrimination, political greed and such. I was actually inspired to write it after reading some late night tweets from political friends descrying the mindset that morality doesn't really matter as long as your making money. Please let me know if you think I'm hitting the mark on all these issues or not. It's going to be a lot different than my other stories, so I'll be eagerly waiting to hear how people receive it. I LOVED this little insight into Justin's mind. It made complete sense and it made me want to jump into my computer screen even more and give him a hug.

You know what was so awesome about this chapter? How you played around with canon and included it in your AU universe. Debbie and the casseroles and them getting high was great.

I love to play with canon in my AUs. Besides, Debbine coming over with a casserole just seemed to fit perfectly here, right? I also love putting lines from the series into other character's mouths - keep your eyes open for more of that in this one. And, yes, Brian - with his background of abuse of a different kind - certainly understands Justin's need for control. He's trying his best to give it to the boy. Ahhh... angst...
Um.. just sayin' ... Brian needs to grow the hell up. His behavior here is so abusive that it's painful to even think about. He's put himself into a situation that is uncomfortable for himself and is now blaming the victim. Yeah, I know he did it in canon, but that was with a free-will Justin. Here there is no possibility of free-will for Justin and that makes the 'bite my nose off to spite my face' behavior that we kinda loved about Brian in canon, it makes it deplorable. (Notice the current events reference? ;) I know, I know... there will be a moment of reckoning where Brian is concerned, but it's painful to think of a traumatized child (which is really what Justin is at this point) being further traumatized by his rescuer in the meantime.
Now we're getting to the good stuff... ahhh... angst...
Quick - go read the next chapter (just posted) so you can get to the moment of reckoning where Brian redeems himself. And, yes, the angst. It gets deeper . . . just wait till that PC dinner party scene . . . TAG
