Fantastic! Another chapter. While I love Harriet for defending Justin and overuling her asswipe of a husband, I just wish she had gone the step further to actually leave him. Don't know why she keeps him around. Michael and Lindsay are going to be problem children and Laura needs to learn her place before she not only loses her job but her fiance. Will Brian not listening to what Mikey said get him in trouble? Michael keeps spouting off that Justin is a husler who tried to steal Brian's wallet, a baldface lie.

Daphne and Justin's great reunification will be an asset both at work and at home; they need each other to rebuild what was crashed down when Craig pushed Justin out. She will also help to fight Laura if she starts poking at Justin.
Brian barefoot... and the tight top and the worn jeans... ahhhhhhhhhhhh... self-fan!
Justin's meal sounds so delicious: he already has hooked Brian with his mind, his drawings and now with his cooking. What will happen once Brian tastes the cake with strawberries?

I definitely see angst ahead, with Laura ferreting out information about Justin. I'm assuming she'll somehow learn of Craig's outright lies about Justin molesting Molly. I wonder if she's so slimy that she'd sleep with Craig to obatin information. Ugh, completely grossed myself out with that thought. Those two would definitely deserve each other.
And then there's whiny weasel Mikey, whom Lindsay all too readily helps. Something very creepy about how she's willing to help him stalk Brian. I wonder if those two will collude with Laura.
I figured I might as well enjoy this chapter in the middle of the night since Mikey apparently metamorphosed into a horsefly and has been buzzing madly about. The damned git won't hold still long enought for me to make him go SPLAT! LOL

I fear big trouble with Laura as she seems to be from the WASP small world from the Pitts. She might find out the reason Craig used to push Justin out. But, Brian knows and he won't let Laura get away with it if she comes to reveal the false information.
Michael will also be a pain in the ass once he knows who lives in the Brian's building.

What i meant by the way of grown up relationship was that Brian being grown up and has different priorities as he gets older. He sees that being in a relationship means a lot more then hanging out with the idiot Michael. It doesn't mean that he doesn't want to have fun anymore but he wants somthing more because he is now feeling that somthing is missing in his life. The normal life progresdion, In the show they both at one point were not acting like an adult in their relationship. They weren't always honest with themselves or their partner especially in the begining but they were at least better then some of their other couple characters. They always had a problem with communication which was the base of the problems.
In this story besides the horrible way Justin's father treated him, And the abuse that we know how Brian's father treated him ,was there other abuse that will be in the story? You mentioned scarring, from that.

Laura is like a cross between Michael and Lindsay and should make for an interesting villainess. Considering both Brian and Justin's lives prior to meeting (especially Justin's), they needed this type of friendship. Both have trust issues and those type of scars tend to run below the surface no matter how much one might think they are healed. As far as the relationship of Brian and Justin goes, they have always had an 'adult' relationship. Truthfully it was more adult than a lot of those that we had seen in canon. It was based on complete honesty with oneself and their partner (even if it was harsh, late or came with a hefty emotional pricetag; that happens in RL too), implicit trust and open communication (which is supposed to happen but rarely ever does even under the best circumstances). Mitigating circumstances caused their break-ups but they were still handled in an adult manner to a degree that another couple may not have displayed (ie. Mel and Lindsay). Just as different doesn't always mean better, a different type of relationship- be it open or poly- doesn't make it any less mature than monogamy. The people make the relationship, not the title or type. As long as the people within the relationship agree to the terms and are honest about their dealbreakers; are on one accord, it can flourish into something magnificient. What a lovely feel good chapter. Really centering in on the fledgling relationship between B&J. co-workers and tentative friendship. the mutual attraction is a given. :)
Justin's level of confidence will climb even further and will really blossom. so glad he's able to show off his skills and will be able to support and assist Brian in his busness endeavours. Will be another way to use his skills.
I am really looking forward to seeing this through. We know there will be pitts they fall into and roads to travel as they continue on. We know that others will try to discourage anythign between them. Hopefully they won't go too far, but then knowing you 2...one never knows. lol.
Looking forward to the next update!!! Can't wait to see how this relationship continues. I think Ted will be a terrific supporter of these 2 as well and will more than likely develop his own friendship with Justin, just as he seems to have with Brian. Ted seems to be a well matured and confident man. Fantastic to see.
