Hi again! Thanks for the series tip. It sounds really kind of familiar. ;-) A new reboot? Haha! But if I get a chance, I'll check it out. I would have also loved to watch the reboot of QAF too (although I just don't understand why they wouldn't have just made their own new thing out of it - especially with a new title), but first it could be just seen on Peacock and now you can watch it on amazon but just by paying more than what is normal for amazon prime. This is what I always find so exhausting about all these series: all these different providers.... Sky, Magenta, HBO, Showtime, Amazon Prime and so on.... And I still haven't watched season 4 of "The Handmaid's Tale" because I don't want to subscribe to Magenta.... Oh, I just discovered that it is finally available to watch on amazon prime. But actually, I'd have to watch the first three seasons again first...
Ah, thanks for another great chapter! I really like your Daphne! A real best friend (you know who I'm alluding to ;-) ) I like this slow approach between Brian and Justin and we all know that when Brian sets his mind on something, he will fight for it - hopefully! I know what you mean about all those different streaming services. I currently have subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Now TV (basically Sky over here in Ireland) and still feel like I am missing out on some really good shows I would love to watch :(
Handmaid's Tale season 4 has been on German Amazon Prime for a while now, I watched it there months ago. If I had known that you were not aware, I would have told you before ;)
I have to admit that I had no real interest in the Queer as Folk reboot. If they had at least included some of the old characters to get a connection going, but without them? Nah, not my thing. I heard it has already been cancelled again, so I am going to give this season a miss and will wait for my Matt Bomer/Jonathan Bailey version of QAF instead lol
Brian and Justin both have good friends that look out for them and have their backs! Just as it should be :) And yes, once Brian can admit to himself that he's in love, he can be pretty persuasive. I am sure Justin has no idea what's coming for him lol

It's so good to read that Brian admits his feelings and wants to get closer again to Justin whether he is an artist or a prince. By the way, I think I mentioned before that I am a fan of Matt Bomer, the actor. Anyway, he's currently filming a TV show in Toronto for Showtime (the channel that did Queer as Folk back in the day) with Jonathan Bailey in which they play gay lovers in a political drama set in Washington in the 1950's. It's based on a novel (Fellow Travelers), so I recently read the novel and boy, did that read like Queer as Folk in the 50's... The character that Matt Bomer will play is basically a version of Brian Kinney - good-looking, successful career, very charismatic, all the women and men fall for him and want to be with him, doesn't believe in love, only has hookups that mean nothing - you get the idea... Then arrives Jonathan Bailey's character, this young, hopeless romantic that arrives fresh from college and hooks up with him and hopelessly falls in love with him and in the end kind of wears him down into having a very hot and steamy relationship with lots of sex...Of course the younger one gets pushed off several cliffs by the older one, but always comes back. Sound familiar? I swear to God, when I was reading it, I had these flashbacks to certain moments in the Brian/Justin story, because it all felt very familiar. And knowing that they're filming it for Showtime we know it's gonna be steamy. First pictures from the set already looked very promising ;) Anyway, had to share that because it just felt kind of ironic that the characters reminded me so much of Brian and Justin and that my favourite actor will play a Brian Kinney-like role.

This chapter... Beautiful! I love this beginning as Brian gets over himself to unblock Justin and then stares at the phone, secretly sooo hoping it will ring. Oh, don't we all know those moments! And I love that Brian is able to admit his feelings for Justin (at least to himself) and also that it was kind of a relationship. And of course that he then gets over himself and calls. Hey! Yes, like I said, while watching the series I had to think of you and I already figured that the criticism would probably prevail. ;-) And I think I mentioned that before, I'm not that big of a fan, although I've read the books and also watched the movies "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" a lot. But honestly, I wouldn't have noticed the thing about the beards on women or the short hair on elves! And I totally agree with you about the actors. So far nobody has really convinced me. But after struggling more through the first episode, I find it entertaining now. So I will continue watching it. But it really isn't comparable to the movies.
Oh, did Prince William really say that?! Well, hopefully he would also then behave like that, although I do think that we're also further along than we used to be regarding this topic. And I think if you do some proper research, you would find a lot. I only googled briefly and came across that the Prussian king Frederick the Great was probably gay, but of course he was also married to a woman. Interesting topic! Now this chapter. As always, beautifully written. Ted is a really genuine friend who isn't afraid to tell the truth and genuinely wants what's best for Brian. You know what I think about Michael and also about Lindsay, so... I'm curious to see how Brian will behave now. So, looking forward to the sequel on Sunday! Warmest regards!

I was actually travelling for a wedding this weekend and my friend who got married is someone who I met when I traveled to New Zealand and did my Lord of the Rings location tour. So a lot of the guests at the wedding were fans as well and we talked quite a bit about the show and funnily enough everyone I spoke to had the same complaints: The actors aren't good, they get small stuff wrong that would have been easy to get right (long hair for elves, beards for dwarf women, etc.), it's not really exciting and there isn't much happening, but most people at least love the scenery/worlds/cities that were created for this show. It was funny to have so many people coming from different countries and all pretty much seeing it the same way ;)
The thing is there are a lot of royals that were rumored to be gay, some more openly than others, but no royal that ever really openly came out as gay and had an official same sex partner, as far as I am aware.
I am glad that you liked the chapter :) I love Ted and have said before that I think he is a much better friend to Brian than Michael has ever been, so this story is also a bit of a love letter to Ted!

You really can't compare Lindsay and Brian with Justin and Daphne. Justin and Daphne were kind of forced into their married life,
I agtee with Ted's thinking, really, what do Brian and Michael still or ever have had in common? It does seem like a one sided friendship.

Hi again! I also thought we were moving in the right direction, and I think we were indeed going there for a while. Unfortunately, I believe that we have reached a turning point and are unfortunately now going in the wrong direction. At least it's wrong for me. The things regarding laws that happened in Hungary, Poland and USA for example... Who knows what will happen in Italy and also in Sweden. Unfortunately, it seems as if: "Die Welt ist im Wandel" (sorry, I don't know how it is said in the movie in english). I had to think of you while watching the new series "rings of power". I would imagine that if you're a real Tolkien fan, you don't like this series, do you?
So, now to your new chapter. I was thinking that it is amazing that Justin speaks (or writes in this case) so openly about his love for Brian.And Brian doesn't flinch at the words "love" and "relationship". :-) And yes, what a brave step of Justin to come out! I am curious about the consequences and implications! Hm, you made me think about princes and kings... I can't think of an openly homosexuell one... Looking forward to Sunday! Warmest regards!

The world is changed ;) Which kinda shows that the German translation isn't all too great as it implies present tense as in the world is changing while the English implies it is already changed, so more a past tense...
I am watching the show, but I am not a big fan, to be honest. And not because they cast dark skinned elves or dwarves. What a ridiculous discussion really. Why does everything have to be about race nowadays? I honestly couldn't care less about the skin colour of fantasy beings. But dwarf women without beards, elves with short hair? That's just wrong... Especially since the beards of the dwarf women were a talking point that Gimli brought up in the Lord of the Rings movies as well. It's painful to know that basic canon is being ignored. Also, I don't really think that all the actors are great... Sorry, but Galadriel will always be Cate Blanchett. Elrond will always be Hugo Weaving and replacing them both with mediocre actors? Every actor would be fighting an uphill battle taking on such iconic roles, but at least cast actors who have the talent if nothing else...
I love the sceneries, the world's and cities they have created. It just looks amazing, but to be fair, the storyline hasn't really gripped me yet. Hopefully, it will pick up in later episodes. Also, it makes me sad to think that this will be the last we'll see of New Zealand as Middle Earth. It's a real shame that they are moving production to the UK for the upcoming seasons :( New Zealand is and will always be my Middle Earth <3 *Lord of the Rings rant over*

Justin is a lot more honest to himself about his feelings for Brian than Brian is to himself about his feelings for Justin. What's new? ;)
We will hear about the consequences and reactions to his coming out soon. This story was actually inspired by a real life interview with Prince William in which he was asked a couple of years ago what he would do if it turned out that Prince George was gay. He said he would be totally fine with it and love and support him no matter what. Then it occured to me that there is no major royal (that we know of) that is openly gay. Which seems highly improbable if you ask me...

Hi! I have to admit that I only caught the attack on Malte (that was his name) days later through a small newspaper article that said he didn't survive the attack. It's so unbelievable and terrible! I read that the murderer faces up to 15 years in prison for assault resulting in death. Hopefully he will! And a few days ago a trans woman was beaten up by teenagers in Bremen. I do wonder to what extent this is also a religious-cultural problem.... Of course, don't get me wrong, this can also happen to you if you meet the wrong group of Germans...
Now on to the lastest chapter which was great! Yes, sometimes the simplest explanations are the best or the most obvious, but did Justin really believed that Brian knew who he was and didn't say anything about it? And that for over 3 years? Hm, isn't he making it a little easy for himself or wasn't that a little naive of him? But anyway, I'm glad Brian didn't kick him out right away, listened to him and even gave him some advice. Oh and such a cute ending... That's cuddling isn't it?! Is that something you do with your fuckbuddy? Ah, those two! ;-) Looking forward to Sunday and warmest regards!

Hearing about these kind of attacks just makes me sad. For a while I thought we were really moving into the right direction, but now...I am not so sure anymore :(
I am glad that you liked the chapter! Maybe Justin is making it a bit easy for himself, but maybe it was also a nice change from his "normal" life to not have to worry/think about who he is for a while and to just tell himself that it doesn't matter who he is.
I think it's cuddling, but Brian Kinney doesn't cuddle, so I doubt he would agree. Hmmm...?
