This was a great alternative to what was in the show. I loved that Brian not only didn't disappear after the bashing, but basically took over Justin's care as well as help him recover.

I really liked the story but am a bit confused...in the beginning part Brian tells Melanie to file for third party adoption and then later Melanie tells him she filed and should get it...later you have Gus get sick and Melanie can’t get In the hospital so Brian signs over his rights like he does in the series,,,if she had adopted him already then this doesn’t follow...
