Sad to see this end, it was great ..... what have you got up your sleeve next?
Author's Response:
Thank you for taking this ride with me, Sharon. It's been different and fun, not to mention taking forever. But, with this last year it was unavoidable.
Haha. You know I have something up my sleeve, right? LOL. At the moment, I am working on the next chapter of 'Dark Obsession,' but I am also working on something else very different. Details to come...

Look forward to the finish. I have also re-read some of your stories as you posted them on here.
At least I now know why I couldn't find your stories on midnight whispers!!
Thanks Hun,
Deb L.
Author's Response:
I'm always glad to hear that my stories get a re-read. That's a wonderful compliment. :)
Hopefully I didn't confuse too many readers and they figure out the two places to find me. It was time for a change. I won't be changing again.
Your welcome, and thanks for reading and commenting. The final chapter will be as soon as I can update my other WIP, which has been forever!

Oh, I'm so glad everything turned out for the best. Ben accepting Justin, was his seal of approval for Brian, and any past harsh words forgotten.
But oh man, did he ever open another can of worms.
This has been a good story.
Hugs,
Cathy
Author's Response:
One wonders if Ben dropped that little tidbit on purpose or not. As intuitive as Ben is, and Brian knows this very well, he had to know that Brian hadn't told Justin about his fairy heritage. All in all, though, I think the brothers will be in a better place going forward.
I'm glad you've been enjoying it, Cathy. I think it's my last vampire story. I was requested another vampire story before I started writing this one, and then the interest seemed to diminish greatly, but that's okay, I have another story that is waiting to be written, in addition to my other WIP.
Thanks for your comments, Cathy.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Jun 08, 2021 12:19 am Title: A Night of Truth
So Brian did tell all. Will Justin keep in mind just how loathsome and awful Seth was and accept it was for the best? Earlier, Justin worried Seth would move onto his next victim, so let's just hope he remembers that.
I still have a quivering in my stomach regarding Ben and his reactions to all this.
Hugs,
Cathy
Author's Response:
I wonder if fairy blood has truth serum? Just kidding. LOL. Hopefully, Justin has a good reaction to this big news. I guess we'll see soon.
Ben has certainly been a bit anti-Justin, but he's just protecting his brother.
Thanks for commenting, Cathy.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Jun 07, 2021 8:15 pm Title: Consequences Be Damned
WOW! Brian came clean! Now I wonder if he will reveal ALL!
I wonder what all Ben will have to say, and if he will still think Justin might have to die?
Hmm... will the brothers fight?
Hugs,
Cathy
Author's Response:
It's at the point in the story where the truth needs to be told. I guess I can't really end it with such big secrets. Lol.
I think if Ben ever trusts Justin he could become his biggest ally. I'm sure he'd love to see something happen to make his more unpredicatble brother be a bit more careful.
Thanks for commenting, Cathy.
:)
Date: Jun 07, 2021 8:01 pm Title: A Stunning Understanding
thanks for the interesting updates.
Author's Response:
Your welcome. Hopefully, one more chapter can close this out. Other story ideas are jumbling up in my mind. Lol.

That impish little Justin... and with him being fay, impish is a good description.
I have to wonder if Justin relayed everything to Brian, or if he held anything back?
Well, is Ben going to interrupt, or will the evening commense for them?
On to the next chapter...
Hugs,
Cathy
Author's Response:
I don't think Justin would have purposesly held anything back. He does trust Brian implicitly. Brian has virtually saved his life at this point, but will that trust continue, I guess we'll see. Haha.
Ben certainly has trust issues, excluding his little brother.
Thanks for commenting, Cathy.

wow I forgot about this story needed a refresher. Michael always an ass. I am surprised that I never left a coment. Thanks for the updates and I will add story to favorites.
Author's Response:
I rarely write Michael in a good way since this is really how I see him. LOL.
Thanks for the comment. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. :)

I know I say this with all your stories Janet but I don't want it to end....Lol
honestly though I love it, looking forward to some Brian/Justin action next
Author's Response:
Awww, thank you. That means so much to me. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your support of this stories, and my others. I deeply appreciate that. And, don't worry, you know I will give them a HOT send off. LOL.

Oh I don't want it to end I love a vampire Brian......I love it thanks for writing/sharing
Author's Response:
You are very welcome. I'm glad you're still enjoying this story, and this vampire Brian. I think interest in this story has greatly diminished, so I am thankful that you still support this story. I don't think I can wrap things up in one chapter. That would be too rushed, but I am hoping it will only be two more chapters, one of which I hope will be ready soon.

Dang girl! That was one sexy chapter. Loved it. Now to do something about Ben.
Author's Response:
I'm glad you liked it. They definitely had a lot to work through, and probably not finished yet. Haha. Ben will probably have a lot to say, and intentions that may need handling. Hopefully, we find out soon. Thanks so much for the comment.

Am loving this story, which by my username isn't a suprise. However it's not just the theme, it's the ability you have to draw your reader's in. This is my first review even though I've read a lot which is selfish of me. I love the way you can imagine being there as you describe everything so vividly. Before you said about Justin being a faery I was thinking he was an empath.
Can I ask is this inspired a little by True Blood? The way you describe being a faery is a little what it's like with Sookie's faery blood being enticing and she can't be glamoured either. And she's a mind reader.
Author's Response:
One, I love your username - quite obviously since I have written so many vampire stories. Haha. And two, I'm so glad you're enjoying this story. I try to make each of my vampire stories different. I tend to vary on vampire rules, and any of the supernatural they encounter according to the particular story.
When I was deciding on Justin's lineage, I only briefly thought about True Blood. For me, it was what made sense for what I wanted Justin to be able to do, and what would level out the playing field between Brian and Justin. Although, Brian is physically the powerful one, Justin can reach him in ways that make him vulnerable as well. So, it's a balance for sure. At times, Brian was perceiving Justin as a siren. Perhaps he's watched Vampire Diaries - LOL. So far we don't know all of Justin's abilities, but perhaps we will soon. He can't really read minds, but he does have premonitions; and, of course, I think his enticement is clearly established now too.
Thanks for reading and commenting. I do hope you continue to enjoy this story.

Really? My imagination kicks in. Love the supernatural.
Author's Response:
I often write in a supernatural element. I like it too.
Thanks for the comment. :)

Date: Sep 12, 2020 5:41 pm Title: Human, or Something More?
So... I decided to read the last chapter... I was holding off. (I know, dumb.)
A fairy. I kind of had that in the back of my mind, but not really. Maybe it's because Mary (lv2walk) just recently finished her story of Jack being a fairy, so it was fresh in my mind. But I do wonder why the 'fairy blood' and 'fairy being' is so intoxicating to Brian - but not Ben. And will having a drop of Ben's blood in his systen, make Justin more attune to Ben?
And lordy, if he gave Brian a blowjob, and got THOSE fluids in him, he might really be attune to Brian.
So back to this relative that bequeathed the money... Was he fairy too? Are all the Taylor's - or at least Jen's side, fairies too? Is Justin aware (when his memories retuen) that he's fairy?
A hundred questions roaming through my mind, but I'm sure I have to wait for answers. *sniff*
Looking forward to what's coming ahead...
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
My update pace hasn't been very quick with this story. It's not that I don't ever have the time to write, but with this type of story, at least for me, I have to be in a certain mindset to focus. And, I am guilty of working on my other yet to be posted WIP. :)
Ben is older than Brian, and it's been spoken of a few times that he is much more powerful. Perhaps he is more than just a vampire. I guess we'll see. How Ben's blood could affect Justin is an interesting question. Will it or won't it? Justin hasn't had any of his visions in a long time, really since his mind has been going in so many directions. He is definitely due for one... but what could it be!?
There are certainly so many answers to come still, and I think Justin's memory returning will start of chain of events. That might be happening soon now. I think Justin has been in the dark long enough.
More to come as soon as I can.
Thanks for commenting!
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 04, 2020 2:45 am Title: Home Sweet Home?
Well, that sounds ominous. I have to wonder how Ben can solve the puzzle of Justin if Justin goes to bed.
I caught that little bit about Ben's eyes reflecting fear as he greeted Justin. So, I'm even more convinced there's an underlying facit about Justin we're yet to learn.
I'm surprised Justin didn't question the difference of their last names. It hit me as soon as Ben said, Bruckner... so, are they not full-blood brothers?
Another thing that surprised me, can they really eat food? I noticed Brian did consume some whiskey earlier, or was it a ruse about Ben already have eaten?
And when Justin gets his couple of million, he can buy a sports car too. LOL
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Ben does have very enhanced abilities, far more than a normal vampire. At times, I'm sure Brian wishes his brother couldn't see quite so much. Lol.
Right. They would be half-brothers, but I'm not sure I will be exploring the full backstory here. Only time will tell...
Yes, they can eat food, but in my mind, I would see them doing so in very small quantities. Of course, liquor seems to be another story.
It would be interesting to see just what Justin could splurge on when he's rich. He did seem to be quite enamored with Brian's car. LOL.
Thanks for commenting.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 03, 2020 6:48 pm Title: A Shocking Discovery
Blood had never tasted so good. I didn't want to stop. Maybe Justin's blood is like heroin... I did love the shudder of revulsion Brian felt about having feelings... he just isn't getting it. But so Brian Kinney-ish.
I'm curious how Seth got the documents about the inheritance. He had simply told Brian he overheard a conversation... So, was the conversation between Justin and the attorney in the hospital, and is that how Seth intercepted the documentation? Had the attorney left it there with Justin? It just seems a strange place for an attorney to visit and reveal that.
Now, this relative has me curious, especially since Justin doesn't recognize the name, which tells me it's probably not a grandparent. And MAYBE this relative has a connection that only him and Justin share... a power of sorts, that's making it impossible for Brian to compel or probe. So maybe if Ben catches Justin unaware, he can seek that reason out.
I absolutely loved this: Fucking clairvoyant freak. LOL... That was classic!
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
There is definitely a reason why Justin's blood tastes so good to Brian. And, we'll find that out very soon. :)
We certainly have a lot to explore here in regards to Justin's past. Perhaps when we do, or we meet the attorney, Seth's part will be revealed. And yes, Justin's relative is a special connection, one I hope I can begin to explore soon.
Haha. I'm glad you liked that line. I thought it would fit here - LOL.
Thanks for commenting, Cathy.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 03, 2020 5:39 pm Title: An Unexpected Answer
So, Justin's moving in with Brian - and Ben. I somehow don't think Ben is going to be overly thrilled with that. I'm not sure he approves of Brian's need/want for the human. But just how far will he go to protect his younger brother? Or will he come to see Brian wants Justin in a different way than his other conquests? And especially when Justin easily accepted to live at Brian's home without being compelled to do so.
And will Justin discover any secrets? And how will Justin learn of his inheritance, or will he maybe remember that when his mind fully unclouds?
Did Brian NEED an invitation to enter Justin's apartment, or did it just make it easier? (I wasn't sure on that point.) It's not a significant thing to know, just wondered what Brian's powers were... if afterall he can be in daylight, only weakened, maybe he can enter without an invitation.
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Yeah, I don't think Ben will be overjoyed with Justin as a houseguest... even if it isn't his house. I'm sure Ben is accustomed to Brian's dalliances with humans, but I think he sees something is very different in this particular pursuit, which is why he arrived at Brian's home, intent on protecting his younger brother.
In time, I am sure Justin will remember his past. I think it will be interesting to see what he could be blocking, but I know we'll get him there.
Yes, Brian did need an invitation. I vary my vampire rules in different stories. Some rules that we have seen used are too strange for me, but others I think work, and just make sense. The invitation is one of those.
As always, thank you for reading and commenting, Cathy.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 02, 2020 11:22 pm Title: Just One Taste
So, Brian got a small sample of Justin's blood, but I doubt it's enough for him to be able to use mind compulsion on him. But it appears to have just made Brian that much more ravenous...
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Yes, Justin's blood seems to make Brian even more hungry. Is there a reason for that? I guess we'll find out - LOL.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 02, 2020 10:09 pm Title: Unexpected Visitor
Well, this chapter took a turn... MONEY? Yes, Seth needed to be rid from this earth... men like him will just move on to their next prey.
I have to wonder just what the disposal process is, and how Ben feels he could learn more about Seth during it.
And with Ben being Brian's brother and maker, I'm hoping this won't create problems. And lordy, lordy, I really hope Ben isn't attracted to Michael... (I have never understood that pairing.) But I think it would bring conflict into their lives.
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Since Seth is gone, I suppose some things could remain unanswered. In the moment, I think Brian felt he had little choice. It was obvious he didn't quite trust the justice system, but who knows how many crimes he has witnessed over his long life? Either way, it was clear that Seth would always be looking for an easy victim. That was just who he was.
It is my feeling that the disposal process is complete, with nothing remaining. I guess if one is a vampire, that could be necessary at times.
I think I can spare you from a Ben/Michael romance - LOL. Ben in this story doesn't seem interested in personal relationships, most especially with a human! Lol. And yes, that would certainly bring conflict. We'll see what the muse has in store down the road; but, so far, that hasn't happened. :)
Thanks for commenting, Cathy. It is deeply appreciated.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 02, 2020 9:42 pm Title: No More Stalker
No More Stalker - perfect chapter title... although I now have to wonder since Michael broke up with David, if Brian will have yet another problem on his hands.
And how is Michael's sudden loathing going to be explained? I'd think Emmett would get suspicious.
I do have to wonder if Brian will even get to Seth tonight, because I have a feeling Justin will be arriving at Babylon shortly.
Off to read another chapter...
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
That's a good point. Michael's sudden loathing of Brian could be suspicious, but maybe they are accustomed to his unusual behavior. Lol.
Brian certainly has much going on right now, but I'm sure he'll find time to visit with his new obsession - sooner or later. :)
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Sep 01, 2020 11:30 am Title: Plans Set in Motion
YES! Seth has (well, mostly) been taken care of. I'm trusting hospital administration and the police will punish the revolting man accordingly. And if he's in cahoots with anyone, I'm hoping they will be brought down too. Although I'm a little surprised that Brian never insisted on knowing just why Seth was doing this, because if anyone else is involved Brian would definitely want to deal with them too...
And speaking of 'dealing with', I gather Mikey's next. Yeah, I wouldn't want to touch his neck either. His blood is probably poisonous. Oooh, what a thought! It's too bad Brian dosn't have the power to will them someplace they can never come back from.
I do really enjoy the vampire sagas, thus owning three different DVD series. Although both True Blood and Vampire Diaries fell flat toward the end. That does seem to be a common occurrence, though.
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Not to worry. Brian is far from finished with Seth yet. I think it will be resolved well; in fact, you will find out more a couple of chapters ahead. At least, I think so. I am trying to remember where you are in the story, and what comes after. LOL. I don't want to give any spoilers. :)
And yeah, dealing with the over attentive Michael should be where you land next. Mikey might not be as dangerous to society as Seth, but an annoyance that needs handled all the same. His screeching would make my head explode! Haha.
I'm so glad you enjoy vampire sagas. I have always been a fan, and have probably watched every film or series I can find. I agree with True Blood's ending. It left much to be desired. Vampire Diaries I think they resolved things, but both of them just felt like they were just too rushed in the episodes they used. I do understand in the case of Vampire Diaries. In the final season, they only got Nina Dobrev to commit to that final episode. Apparently, she was done with the show for whatever reason. But, if you watched it when it was actually on the air, it did tie them up for a long time. Personally, I loved the spinoff series, 'The Originals.' I loved watching Klaus and Elijah. So bad but so entertaining. I constantly heard Elijah murmuring Nicklaus in my head - LOL.
Hugs,
Janet

Date: Aug 31, 2020 2:06 pm Title: Taking Care of Business
I'm still catching up. I was excited to see another chapter posted this morning... I'll get there soon. But I wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying this. You've written Brian much the same as canon, only with enhanced qualities: Preditory and controlling of men.
You've managed to capture Michael's delusional mind perfectly. It's pretty bad when they've only known each other a mere few months and Michael thinks they're best friends. And did I read that right? Hubby works too much, so Michael's hoping for a side piece? UGH! It always gets when Michael points out 'blonds' are Brian's type, does he think since he, himself, is brunet, Brian will want him more? Yep, delusional!
Seth... Hmm... don't like him. You couldn't get closer to another Ethan type if you tried. Anyway, my mind is circling ideas why he wants to control Justin. Gosh, I hope it doesn't have anything to do with Hobbs - or Craig. And I have to wonder, have the two of them actually had sex? It was said: a long time... so I'm curious, if ever.
And is the story about Jennifer the truth? Does she even know where Justin is?
Lastly, I'm thinking even when Justin gets free of the meds, he'll still be able to block Brian. I think Mr. Kinney has met his match. But the question is, why? What kind of power does Justin hold? (Of course, I could be totally wrong, so you might be getting a good laugh!) If so, glad to oblige.
More later,
HUGS ~Cathy
Author's Response:
Thanks, Cathy. I'm glad you're enjoying this. I know vampire stories are not for everyone!
What can I say? Typically, I write the characters as I see them, which is probably why I always have Michael, and/or Ethan as extreme anti-characters. I just can't be nice to characters I detest; although, I have been nice to Michael in a couple of my stories. But, that's a rarity. My stomach just can't survive writing it - LOL.
In this story, I think the original character of Seth is more vile than Ethan could ever be. Thankfully, we don't have Ethan here; at least, we haven't yet. Hopefully, that doesn't change. Haha. Although, it's never been discussed, I think we can assume that Justin has had sex with Seth... as disgusting as that idea is.
Regarding Jennifer, I guess we'll see if she comes into the story. So much centers on Justin regaining his full memory. I think the big question for everyone so far is if Brian will be able to compel Justin at some point, and if not, why. I think the last chapter posted will finally answer that. :)
And not a laugh on you at all. I think it stands to reason that there could be a deeper reason how Brian is blocked. You will find that out soon.
Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate that, and I hope you continue to enjoy this adventure.
Hugs,
Janet

I thought I was smart enough not to read uncompleted stories, but here we go again
I'm fascinated and can't wait for the next chapter
this is a really nice supernatural QAF fic, it manages to tell the fantasy stuff not forgetting about great text and character development
I also like how both here and in "in the viewfinder" Ben plays an important part in the story unlike other cast regulars. Ben is cool and deserves it
Author's Response:
I am hoping to have another chapter finished by the end of the weekend. It's been slow going, but I always finish my stories. I have many completed stories to upload to this site. I am doing them one at a time. I do agree that Ben deserves a primary role. Another story that I just started posting, 'My Bodyguard' has him like that too. Many of my stories gives him a featured part.
More to come as soon as I can. Thanks so much for commenting. :)
Date: Jun 20, 2020 2:25 pm Title: A Shocking Discovery
Poor Justin... And yet, NOT. Somehow, I think he'll grow stronger from his experience with Seth.
As for Brian and Ben's puzzlement on why Brian cannot seem to compel Justin, I'm thinking there is something information about that locked away into Justin's memories, including just who the relative is. Perhaps Justin can get his inheritance earlier, and begin to rediscover himself, even as Brian and Ben try to figure him out.
I don't know but there are so MANY thoughts and possibilities running through my head right now! Can't wait for all of this to unfold!
HAPPY WRITING and HUGS, Janet!!!
~Chelle
Author's Response:
Yes, you are definitely right. There are so many possibilities and avenues this story could take. I think it will start to come together soon as I don't plan on this being one of my 'War and Peace' stories on length. LOL.
I guess first we'll see what Ben's take is on Justin once they meet face to face. Ben is extremely gifted in ways that Brian is not... so, he could figure something out. Only time will tell. But for sure, the relative that Justin doesn't seemingly have any knowledge of could be significant. :)
Thanks for reading and your support, Chelle. I appreciate that so very much.
Hugs,
Janet
