Assault and battery... Hobbs better be going to prison, and his cronies - right behind him... jail cells for all of them. Stupid Hobbs did it right in front of the police. "Don't drop the soap, Hobbs."
WHO WAS SHOT? If they were fighting for the gun, and it went off, I have to wonder if Joan was hit? And it would have been Chaire's finger, thereby her prints, around the trigger. And if Joanie is dead, Claire can't even use the excuse that she was following her mother's orders... Brian heard it all. God, I hope it's not one of her boys!
Just wait until Jennifer finds out the reason Justin was able to get beaten so severely was that Craig was not there to pick him up. Maybe Craig will turn up at the hospital smelling of cheap perfume and sex...
While reading this fast-paced chapter, I kept thinking, "I hope she's a fast typer." Because a slow typer could lose their flow. I am well versed on that, what with my accident only leaving me able to type one-handed.
I'm VERY anxious for the last chapter.

This was a very challenging chapter to write because I had to keep the two different story lines moving at the same time and weave in a third pov at the end. I'm very pleased with how it turned out though. Unfortunately, I'm having a very busy week and may not have time to finish up the final chapter (maybe 2 chapters at this point because I have a lot more loose ends than I expected) until the weekend. Well, I managed to get caught up on the last three chapters, and I'm looking forward to the next one and the last one when you get it posted.
I debated about reading it... I've had six people pre-warn me, that you allowed Kari, who loves Mikey and is a Hal fan, decide to NOT let Michael be in on the kidnapping. I'm with them... I'm not sure how I feel about that. Mainly, because Justin brought up VERY valid points. Because even though Michael hates Justin with every fiber of his being, he does REALLY resent Brian. And he's got the most hateful attitude... if I can't have him, I'm going to do EVERYTHING in my power, so you don't either. That was time and again in canon.
But the story is awesome, and I can hardly wait to see how you wrap everything up. I'm almost thinking Momma Joanie has to be involved too. Some of the things that have been said throughout this story, are things that Joan, not Claire, would know and say.
I'm REALLY hoping Horvath comes on the phone... QUICKLY!!!

Yeah! I previously found the kitchen could have been Joan's. As for how they might have known Gus' existence, it could be Michael or Debbie with her big mouth.
As for Justin, this new cliffhanger might lead to a very bad situation; let's hope that Craig will show up or that Brian will "feel" the distress and arrive on his black horses.

I love how Brian is letting Justin and some others know that Justin is a friend and maybe more. Debbie's reaction is both funny and motherly (if such word exists). Michael's reaction is very bad and mean, which is expected, but what Justin is feeling is quite disturbing.
I also love how Justin's stomach is filling some blanks and helping lightening the mood.
