Huge step for Brian regarding his finances and how much he gives Lindsay. She tends to forget that he told her he will help, but that doesn't mean that he will provide every month. 1000§ is a huge amount for one kid, considering Brian is occasionally buying additional stuff. He should discuss with both Lindsay and Melanie, to highlight his figures.
Emmett should be more careful in public places.

Emmett is a good friend too and I will probably include him in more of the story. I don't think $1000 would be out of the realm of possibility when it comes to Lindsay's asking him for money. When he cuts back, she will really start balking.

Wow, powerful chapter. Have known a couple people who had drinking problems (not sure if they were actually alcoholics) and stopped drinking for one reason or another and it was a long time ago remember them struggling, but they made it. As strong a character as Brian can be, it always bothered me that Mikey could control him the way he does. I know Brian had it rough and feels he owes Mikey and Deb a lot, but the time has to come when he puts himself first. This is an amazing journey not just a story. Fantastic writing.

Second big milestone for Brian: admitting what was/is his life made of. It was/is pretty shallow; I wouldn't dare saying meaningless though. After all his battles to stay alive during his childhood, he is killing himself slowly. While he didn't want Gus, maybe he will stay alive and healthy because of him.
Why the number 64000?

Brian has had a difficult life and has dealt with it through drinking. Now his way of coping is backfiring and he has to find a better way. 64,000 question refers to a TV show in the US- Called the 64,000 pyramid. A person wins $64,000 when they get through all the categories. Brian is answering a lot of questions from Justin and Justin is trying to get him to analyze his life. If Brian answers the questions and remains sober, he wins the ( proverbial prize)
