Oh my gosh! Another update so quickly! BTW, Regarding the lack of Michael's presence in Pittsburgh... Well, I highly doubt anyone will care much.
Little Max is such a Sweetie. Gus sounds like the typical young teen. Jenny sounds too much like Michael. Where's Mel's traits? I wonder how Jenny feels about Michael. If they are close, after she hears the 'rant' that is Michael Novotney when she goes to visit, she might not be so compliant towards him. Where are Michael and Ben anyway? Are they still in the U.S.?
That's really neat that the only person they told is Jen. That acknowledgement must have made her feel very special. And good Lord! Molly has twins! I tried putting a time-line on her. I think she was 10 when Justin was 17, so she must be about 24. How old are the twins? Younger than Max? Close to the same age? Will they be Max' friends, too?
Keep writing Starlight. This is so good. looking forward to your next chapter.

Love how Gus and Jenny both just accept that Max is now their brother. No bitter sibling rivalry going on. Sounds like they are both more mature than Michael. LOL!
Good thing Lindsay backtracked on trying to defend the other teacher for leaving Max at the gallery. I don't think she would have been very happy to be lumped in with Michael where Brian and Justin are concerned.
Emmett and Drew are so sweet shopping together. Hope they decide to adopt soon!

He knew he'd miss this later, but for now he could enjoy the feeling. That was a heartbreaking moment. Just goes to show, once again, how truly awful these places have been for Max. When I got to the end, I had this lump in my throat. To have lost hope when one's life is so young, is an awful feeling.
I was slightly confused about Michael. First it sounded like nobody was supposed to tell him, then Brian said something how he'd deal with him if he hadn't calmed down by the time they were back from Ben's book tour. Michael sounds like the horrible, jealous person we all love to hate. I can't believe Ben has put up with him all these years. Just maybe, when Michael shows his true colors when they get back, Ben won't have to deal with him anymore. And instead of Brian dealing with him, shouldn't that be Ben? Ben should be the one laying the law down, although it could prove to be some great entertainment with Brian laying into him. I just hope he doesn't lay any cutting remarks at Max' feet.
Lindsay sounds like another one who has some issues. Upset Brian didn't tell her. Making comments to hope she didn't get lumped in with Michael. Hmm... That's not a reason for saying something positive. You're suppose to speak from your heart.
Can't wait until Emmett and Drew, and Ted and Blake can get two more children out of that foster home. I hope there are a couple of the kids Max likes in that home. And speaking of the home, I really hope those 'older kids' were old enough to be taking care of smaller children. And the social worker who was standng up for the parents, didn't win any brownie points with me. Just because they hadn't had any problems brought to their attention before, doesn't mean they hadn't misjudged how to treat the children in the past. It was a very serious offense. They could have called a neighbor to check on the kids for them.
Anyway, so happy to see an update so quickly. Thank you for this wonderful story.

Love how they had no doubt about taking Max in. Emmett was very helpful. Having Gus and Jenny in Max's corner is also good. Now we only have to worry about Michael. At least we have 5 months to wait for him to blow.

Who are Drew and Em going to foster and wind up adopting? Ted and Blake too? Loving how the family is readily accepting of Max. Gus is just who he needs right now.
Is there any hope that Michael never wants Ben's book tour to end and not want to come back to Pittsburgh? Drew hit the nail on the head about Michael. Jealous? Always. Not for what Brian does for Justin alone but for what Michael expects Brian to do for him and doesn't. Which explains why he wanted to join them on their trip.

Oh Thank God it was Justin sitting on that bench! I was kind of worried for a minute. Poor Max had such a terrible life the last few years. There's nothing worse than a 'forgotten child', whether it's in a gallery or in a home setting. But Brian and Justin will give Max all the love he can possibly need. And Max will have a 'real family'. He will come to know the true meaning of the word 'Family'.
