This was a wonderful story. You did a great job bringing Brian full circle along with the rest of the family.
Author's Response:
Thank you! I'm glad that what I hoped to accomplish came through. Thanks again for the activism plot idea. Having that in the back of my mind helped shape a lot of what happened in the story.

Me too. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What a surprise all the way to The End. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Author's Response:
Thank you! I’m so glad that you’ve enjoyed it all. I’m proud of how the last chapter turned out. Thanks for reading!

Can Justin keep a secret and should he? Love the idea for helping the handicap community.

What an absolutely wonderful story. So glad for a happy ending. I become very attached to a story that I love and I will miss them terribly, but I know that they will be just fine. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and making this story so amazing. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it. I do plan to keep writing! I won’t be able to keep up the pace I have this past month, but I will keep writing.

Beautiful ending to a wonderful story.
Sequel? 🤪
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 Maybe someday! If I can think of a compelling plot.

Great update.
Brian's doing good even if it started out more orvless for himself. Meeting others like himself is good for his psyche too.
Yes to Justin quitting the restaurant. Yes to Justin working on his art more. Yes to Justin working for Kinnetik. Maybe to the surprise party. I do think this 'new' Brian may actually enjoy it.

Rochelle, I like her. Brian is going to get Brian back. She gave him a lot to think on.
Some people don't see the chair, he's right about that. As it should be.
Some people are afraid to find the person sitting in the chair for that's all they see. Those people aren't worth the time.

I have a feeling Brian is going to like his birthday surprise party. I'm curious about the new Rage.
Brian's idea of campaign sounds amazing.

Great update. Love that Brian is seeing things in a better light. Now if idiot Mikey doesn't make him mad. Wonderful writing.

I have a question: I am wicked concerned about whatever story Justin & Michael have cooked up for the new Rage issue. I have a theory....Rage is wheelchair bound but gets a miracle somehow and is restored to his old self?? Omg I'm so nervous for whatever it is!
Author's Response:
You'll find out in Chapter 12 ;)

Brian's campaign is amazing; only him could think of that and act on it; I love his ideas. It's also great that he's getting new friends.
Michael's surprise party is going to be a nightmare, like each time he tried that.
Author's Response:
I'm so glad you liked it! And the surprise party is going to be interesting, for sure.

I'm all caught up. Can't wait for more. This story is so beautiful, heartbreakingly beautiful.

Thank you so much! <3

This chapter was thought provoking. I sometimes wonder if Brian and Justin talked about how Justin felt after the bashing would help Brian see that his feelings aren't that much difference. Joining a gym might help Brian get back into the shape he was even if he can't use his legs for walking. How do you own a wheelchair.
Author's Response:
Good question - "owning it" here refers to his identity -- who he is as a person, disability included. Not letting it take over his life and leave him feeling powerless. Joining a gym wouldn't help his legs because he's not able to use the muscles at all, but it would help with others aspects, so that's a good idea for something to work in. You're absolutely right that their feelings aren't different -- Justin knows exactly where Brian is coming from and it gives him a unique perspective. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Letting things out won't be easy and results won't be fast. But when Justin and Brian work together miracles can happen.
Date: Aug 24, 2018 6:22 pm Title: Desire
Rochelle seemed to be the person Brian needed to talk to; the first contact was successful.
Brian's night out could have been better, but he made a few contacts and it could help him later to get new accounts.
First shower together: that's a huge step!
Author's Response:
Yes it is! I've been loving watching out for all of your comments as you've made your way through the story. Thanks so much for all of your feedback and for taking the time to comment.

Great chapter, once more! The "what if" part is a good analysis.
I'm relieved that Brian actually got help and is having a better understanding of his "ghosts". It's amazing that he is willing to get Justin along with him. That's the best change he had done since the streetlamp.
Date: Aug 24, 2018 5:04 pm Title: Alive
Pain management and moving on: Brian's decision should help him and Justin to get a better life together. Next time, Brian should get a taxi to arrive at his meeting and book another one to go back, until he knows his way.
Date: Aug 24, 2018 4:13 pm Title: Reunification
Great: Brian did ask and got the answer he was afraid not to receive. I love the way he did that.
I hope Brian will get what Justin is trying to instill in his mind: they can't have sex like they did before, but there are ways to try and new sensitive areas to discover.
Date: Aug 24, 2018 3:55 pm Title: Reflection
Chapter heavy on emotions! What a life Brian had and still has. Thanks to Deb and Michael at the beginning and now Justin who is there for him, no matter what.

Date: Aug 24, 2018 8:18 am Title: Desire
Yes it's the start of the new Brian. Wonderful chapter. Thank you
Date: Aug 23, 2018 7:36 pm Title: Let Go
Another great chapter: Brian is struggling towards his new goal, but it won't last long; as soon as Ted gives the "go", Brian will start the rolls. Is it something he discussed with Justin while they were together or is he weighing the feasibility and then, he will talk about his idea.
It's obvious it's a logical choice, for many reasons, which you explained; he must break free in order to move forward. He must "become" anonymous to build a new life.
Author's Response:
He doesn't want to mention it to Justin until he knows he can make it work. Thank you so much for taking the time to review -- I really appreciate the feedback.
Date: Aug 23, 2018 6:01 pm Title: Invincible
This is an amazing story and I'm wondering if this isn't somehow a situation you are familiar with. This feels so real: I have been there, even if I had the chance not to become paralyzed. The pain, the despair, all that Brian is getting through at the hospital, the sudden disruption of life... It does ring a bell and it's wonderfully written, full of hope.
Author's Response:
Ack, I accidentally deleted your last review while trying to fix a typo in my response! Anyway, what I said was that you’re right on the dangers of the “what if”...and we will get more into that in Repercussions. ;) Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.
Date: Aug 23, 2018 5:20 pm Title: Together
This second chapter is a great as the first one: well written, plausible (physical impacts, limitations of public transportation or building access, clients having reserves while Brian's mind isn't paralyzed), sensitive.
Brian is getting better at talking about emotions and letting Justin in. Justin is getting better with this tough situation and pulling Brian towards the sun, out of his dark moods.
