If I get one wish during this story is that Michael receives a smackdown from his bestest bud. Needs to be, say at a Sunday night dinner at Deb's. Also letting the family in on Michael's gem of a comment at the girl's anniversary party. I believe the word I'm looking for is annihilation. Then he can turn on Lindsay.

Wow. How well do they really know each other.
It's a shame Justin feels that he can't say what he wants for fear of Brian's reaction. What's really a shame is that Brian knows it.
Lindsay and Michael have no time for Brian when he can't do anything for them. Lindsay can't get money, Michael has to pay for drinks himself. Pity.
I'm surprised he heard from Mel willing to help if she can. Em, always there willing to help anyway he can. Love him.
Mothers and a father whom love their sons do what they can. Hence the food and computer and internet service.
Can't wait to see Justin's reaction to Brian's latest bomb.

Hey Sherry,
I think Justin's reluctance to speak his mind is really going to change throughout the course of this fic. Brian's asking for utter and complete honesty, so he has to be prepared for what giving Justin carte blanche to say what he really thinks and feels really means. I think they will both be surprised at the revelations revealed going forward.
Michael and Lindsay are both moochers in the extreme. It always bothered me that when things were going great, they never seemed to even think of Brian, and therefore Justin. But the minute things took a wrong turn in their lives, he was sought out to put things to right. A lot of my work includes things- or more accurately, possible scenarios- that we didn't see when the cameras stopped rolling on the series. For example, i don't bit more believe that in Season 1, Mel would have left Lindsay without funds for the bills, or even Gus' daycare. She just never seemed that type of person to me, especially knowing that without her in the household, Lindsay would need to return to work sooner than her five year plan. It just didn't make sense for her to ask that of Brian, especially after the whole rights issue. But I digress; we're talking this Alternate Canon universe...LOL

Thanks so much, Shine! I absolutely LOVE growing these characters beyond what the show produced. No doubt I love QAF, but sometimes they just made me so angry with the lack of inclination and time restraints (ie. the bashing storyline, Stockwell, and a few others). So it's so great to have this kind of platform to expand on the storylines, or right the wrongs I felt were committed on the show. It's also a wonderful way to invent new traumas. What can I say? I'm an Angst QUEEN! Well, at least on paper, that is.

Hey Claire, Yep! Things are definitely progressing between Brian and Justin. Both have grown during their hiatus and have come back together a little wiser about what they want and how to get it. Now that's a major ending to this chapter and something I don't think Justin was expecting. The next chapter should be inlightening. It's a shame that his so-called 'friends' haven't checked with Brian except to take from him, in Michael's case.

No Justin definitely wasn't expecting that. Believe it or not, neither was I until it flew out of my fingers, LOL. Brian is going to discover- or should I say actually have to face- the reality of what his so called best friends are really like. One, I'm already sure there aren't any redeeming qualities for. Michael and I...well most likely, beyond MMTK, he and I will probably never see eye-to-eye, and he was killed off there...LOL I can honestly say it's the only time my heart bled for him at least a little. But Lindsay, and a few others, remain my wildcards so far. There's no telling what they are going to do yet.
I'm really happy that I'm writing this one. I miss the others, but I think this going to be a great way to get back to my HAPPY place! At my desk and within the world of my characters!

Thanks so much Deb! The good news is that I can sit up a little longer now, but trying to recondition myself to pull that wonderful and productive 12-15+ hours in my chair again is going to be a trial. I never realized how long I would be in front of the computer, with the exception of taking care of family stuff. It's quite unbelievable!
I'm so happy that you are enjoying my take on two classics! Brian has asked for complete honesty from Justin, and he's certainly going to get it. I always thought that it was the things they didn't say that caused them to implode during the 'Scuzzbucket Era' so I'm enjoying them revealing it all and without prying eyes this time. Seems that this is the most perfect sequel to "Filled Silence" I could have ever thought up.
