I love that Emmett and Mel see the depth of Brian and Justin's feelings for each other and are willing to be there for them and help out where they can. I think that out of the whole family Emmett was to only one who always knew what those two meant to each other.

Luckily, he is not alone. Mel, Emmett and Brian are already fighting with him and Ben will follow. I guess Hunter will too once he will be back. Which will be very soon, now that Michael knows his secrets are becoming "public", he will be back to the Pitts, not caring anymore about Hunter's safety.
Emmett offering to help Brian is natural, but Brian accepting isn't: another sign of Justin's influence.

I love the first chapter. The fact that they are going to try monogamy is very telling about Brian's feelings regarding their relationship.

Brian's inner thoughts about Justin are just amazing to read and a true vision of his feelings for him. The resulting scene was super hot and a sign of the changes in their relationship.
The end is quite disturbing because of the way Michael reacted. Too bad for him, they found out what he tries to hide (part of). I guess they will find some more disgusting things.
Emmett and Brian's interactions are always so funny.

I always thought that if left alone, Mel and Brian would have a friendship second to none. Her insecurity played a major role to keep that from happening on the series, but I love developing their relationship in fanfic. I also felt that she wasn't utilized as an attorney to her full potential so I love letting the pit bull loose!

Amazing chapter! They talk and let their hidden facts in the open. Brian can have a partial view of what Michael did/said to Justin.
I'm surprised Justin didn't react to what Brian said about the memory of Justin at the hospital after the bashing; he could have asked why he didn't come to see him when he was recovering. It's something Justin should know.
It's great that Brian wants to start Kinnetik with Justin; it's so logical.

So glad that you enjoyed it, Claire! I love writing Brian and Justin in this fic where they are getting thnigs out in the open BEFORE having to deal with everyone else. With the whole monogamy thing to the forefront of his mind, Justin probably didn't register what Brian said in reference to the hospital, although he knew that Brian was there during the early hours when he was first brought in. But he will get the whole scope of the matter at a later time, that's for sure. There are so many secret things that they need to reveal to each other so that people like Michael and Lindsay can't use any knowledge that they have to cause problems between them.
And YES, I LOVE the idea of them starting the business together. I always thought it should have happened this way in the show, so it's definitely my pleasure to write it this way in this one and SOWK.

Hey Marilynn,
I am definitely enjoying writing this! It's an idea that I had been toying around with for a number of years and it just seemed like the right time to have at it. Not being able to sit long enough to write the last few weeks has shown me just how long I actually sit at my desk hammering out chapter after chapter, both within this realm and that of my RL. So this is serving its purpose in getting me back into the groove.
The good news is that I can sit up for longer periods now. Anytime you have surgery any portion of your abdomen, it makes it a bit difficult. I go for a follow-up on Monday, but I'm still trying to keep as much pressure off of my lower abdomen as much as possible. Still very tender and extremely sore in spots. I'm learning to obey my body (somewhat reluctantly), but going up and down stairs yesterday...yeah, still haven't quite learned enough yet...LOL I won't be able to do the usual 12-15 hour+ days for awhile yet, but for now, this is enough.

Gardner is going to need a new hobby by the time Mel and Brian gets through with him. And there are going to be a few surprises in that sect as well.
Justin is definitely going to be Brian's not-so-secret weapon. Now that he has his clarity back, he's beginning to see through to the true motives of people. If there was one thing he learned from growing up WASP and being around Deb and Michael is that no good deed comes without a price- or at least that's true in the case of some folks. Brian learned that long ago, but is definitely going to be reminded in the coming chapters.

Two more amazing chapters and so much going on!
It's a good thing Brian and Justin are sticking with being completely honest with each other and that Justin has finally told Brian what he sees going on with Michael and Lindsay. So glad that Brian is willing to let the scales fall from his eyes where his 'best' friends are concerned.
Loved their conversation with Mel. I've always felt that if you take Lindsay out of the equation that Mel and Brian would actually be friends who enjoy antagonizing each other. And just let me tell you that I can't describe how happy I am that Brian didn't give up his rights to Gus in this story. I always hated that in the series!
And what a hot-hot-hot way to wake up in the morning! Whew! I need a cold shower!
Gotta say that Mel is a very smart attorney, already having the papers ready to file against Vance and Vangard was the work of a great attorney. (I should know, I use to work for one.) But she sure didn't see it coming that Brian would ask to have partnership papers drawn up for him and Justin. Wasn't difficult to picture Mel's gobsmacked expression! LOL!
Poor Emmett having to watch over Michael's shop and then to have Michael refuse to give them the password and expect Emmett to ignore his own business in favor of Michael's.
So proud of Emmett, too, for finding the books and the computer files. And very proud of Justin for being able to read Michael so well that he new what Michael's password would be... Michael Charles Kinney... creepy indeed!
