Another chapter that had my chest tight and tears hitting the corner of my eyes. Aching for Brian, who has finally learned what it is he truly wants and needs and is not afraid to show it and admit it.

At the same time, I had an under-laying of anger.  Why Lindsay felt she had the right to continue to sit there when Justin wouldn't acknowledge her... when Brian shot her a steely look... she should have gotten up and went to the car and let Mel come out and wait.

Angrier still when she felt she had the right to question Brian... force him to talk. When Brian said: “That was quite the risk you and smelly-Mellie took this morning, Lindsay.  Was it worth it?” Brian should have WALKED AWAY! Lindsay thought the underlining meaning was FOR HIM. True. But selfish Lindsay didn't think what that betrayal could have done to Justin. That BETRAYAL... by Mel, by Lindsay, could have set Justin back. Lindsay's just a nosy bitch. How is he? How is he? she doesn't deserve to know.

Thank you for another chapter, even though I was angry the whole time I read it.

Perhaps Justin doesn't feel comfortable at the lift because of the revolving the didn't just include friends who didn't understand boundaries but tricks who came and went with rapidity?

The loft I s s source of pain and pleasure for Justin and it is Brian's Conan where no one was allowed to remain and the fact that Justin was given frequent access was Joy and Heartache because as easy as it was to get through w door it was harder when you forced out.

Brian and Justin had no real privacy there because The Family saw it as Brian's Stud Pad Of Legend and not Justin's home.

An unlocked door is Freedom to Come and Go but it also comes with burdens of no safe haven no protection from the cruelty of outside forces.

Brian is not being pushy by letting Justin decide when he is ready to tell him why he won come to the loft, he is keeping everything involving him and Justin close to the chest his relationship with Justin is not up for The Family discussion or mocking.

Lindsay is realizing that her place is just as a friend and Nothing More.

Thanks For the Update 😃

Kerri,

I'm not sure where to start here. I went to reread the previous chapter to re-familiarize myself with the story, only to realize that I had somehow missed that chapter. So I started a couple before that, only to realize that wasn't good enough. So I started at the very beginning.

I read very late into the night and continued today until I read all 34 chapters. Every single chapter reduced me to tears. I know I have been remiss in the past from reviewing, but when your insides are virtually ripped apart, it makes it hard to put your thoughts into words, and I found myself just needing to concentrate on breathing for a while.

I've made no qualms with making my feelings about Michael and Lindsay known. And although some authors find ways to make their characters into infamous bad guys, you have taken two canon personalities and situations and built on that.

Michael... his selfishness with going to Brian, when Ben told him to stay out of it started the downward spiral. Sure, as Justin said, they probably would have imploded at the rate they were going, but "the protector of my best friend" was done for purely selfish reasons. If that was bad enough, he was TOLD and WARNED to not go near Justin. So, Michael knowing best, goes to see him. WHY? Because he wants to smooth things over with Brian. He wasn't worried about Justin. He even told him, Brian was so upset, Justin!  How could you do that to him?  Even though he went there to try to make it right, he STILL couldn't help himself and let his TRUE colors shine through. Then when Todd has info for Brian, Michael gets it out of him, so he can go play hero to Brian once again. THE worst thing Brian could have said to Justin when they were having that heart to heart at Justin's that night was: Michael told me...  Brian should count his lucky stars Justin didn't kick him out right then.  And why, pray tell, when Michael admitted what he said to Justin out by the dumpster and Debbie was chewing him a new one, WHY was Ben silently supporting Michael? Sure, he showed disappointment, but he also:  as he clung to Ben’s hand. ....  It was only Ben’s arm around his waist that kept Michael from sinking to the floor  ...  Michael turned and stumbled towards the front door as Ben guided him with a gentle hand to his lower backChrist, Ben should have left him to his own devices. Just as Justin was made to. I was really disappointed in that. The fact that Michael has been in counseling, I hope to god, you aren't planning to let all be forgotten and forgiven. The word "Michael" is a word that should not be uttered in Justin presence.

When I read about Mel's visit to Justin in Alex's office, I was thinking that was the most positive thing in Justin's life, and I was so proud of her. But what is this shit about Lindsay bringing Gus to the park? She's like Michael. She will do what SHE wants. I am so pissed at Mel right now. I hope Lindsay was dying a slow painful death watching BRIAN comforting and being with Justin in the park. Knowing she's lost them both.

But peeking through all the horror of Justin's downfall of depression, we have seen the beauty and support of his friends, and a new and better Brian emerge. Then we get treated to the beauty of your writing with phrases like this: But as dawn creeped through the windows and the sunrise kissed his face... Kerri, that is so beautiful.

This story hits me on so many levels. I don't think anyone realizes the number of hours you have probably put in dissecting each episode in order to bring this story to life. It's hard to find the words to tell you how powerful and amazing this story is and to say I loved it is an understatement. Thank you for this writing and sharing this story.

Amazing chapter, as usual! Thank you for the update!

Gus and Justin: what a beautiful love! I'm wondering if Justin loves Gus because he is part of Brian, a very innocent part that doesn't hesitate to show his love for "Jussin". I also think that Gus is helping Justin to heal, to restore his ability to feel and to be touched.

Brian is making tremendous improvements and getting closer and closer to a better relationship with Justin. The light touches on the hair and the light kisses are a proof that he learnt his lesson.

Why Do You Keep Making Me Cry? (Don't Stop! ;))

Brian is doing good by moving slow and letting Justin find his own footing by doing that he is giving both of them the chance to process and adjust to a changing landscape that they are creating themselves without others opinions.

Justin is working to find pieces of who he was pre-bashing and add them to the man he is now so that they can mesh without feeling he is fighting himself for control.

Brian is seeing the value in using his words by being more honest with himself as well with Justin, they are seeing a future in the distance that is moving closer everyday because they are taking the time to first discover themselves, then discover What They Want from each other to make Their New Relationship work.

It isn't about burying what the had in the past because some it was good good but now that they are communicating and keeping everyone out they are building a new path to their own Happiness.

Justin isn't ready to truly deal with how everyone's hand played a part in the pain he felt just had, he is taking one step to see who he feels okay  with and who he isn't ready to be around just yet.

Lindsay is pushing for a forgiveness she hasn't earned yet due to Justin not ready to as anything other than the other villain in his story.

The cruelty of a false friend, parent or lover is not easily repaired it takes time and patiences for Forgiveness not be given.

Thanks For the Update, So Worth The Wait😃

Brian leaving before he did something to ruin the tentative trust building between him and Justin was smart, they both need to deal with everything before they can be ready for physical, what the body craves the heart and mind aren't ready for just yet.

Brian using words and feelings that would normally make him cringe to show Justin that he is valued not for the endorphin rush but because what he and Brian shared outside of the bedroom meant more, Justin needs to see he has value because he is more precious than gold.

And Brian needs to see that he was always worthy of Justin because he loved the flaws aswell as the perfection, they didn't detract from how big Brian's heart is and that despite his words his actions shouted loudly.

Brian is going to take Justin on a date? Yes!!!!

Perhaps Brian and Justin can have New First That Just Involve Them, do all the things Brian thought was too hetero or couple like.

Brian is ready to embrace Change and Justin is ready to embrace Happiness.

Sounds like A Wonderful New Beginning For Both of Them :)

Thanks for the Update!

When I saw the latest update, I figured that being it had been a while, I was going to just read the first couple chapters to get a feel for the story, but dammit, you have a way with words and the concept of the story just drew me in again. After chapter seven, I mentally berated myself with, "Why am I still reading this?"  Why? Because it is so damn good. But after I read chapter fifteen, I told my daughter to get over here and shut my laptop down, which would force me to quit. So, I took a break, and later thought I'd read thirty-one before I read the new update. Strangely, the words weren't registering, so I went back to thirty and read that, then realized I somehow missed the last update. So I had virtually two new chapters to read. I am so happy you were able to finally update. All I can say after reading that much of the story in one sitting, is this must be a very taxing story to write. The subject matter alone must be hard, but the depth of the character's mental state, well, all I can say is I'm very proud of your writing. All that said, I want to sum up this chapter in one word. What this chapter gave me is: HOPE.

Thank you for honoring us with this story. Did you happen to notice the start date and the update date?  November 15th. Both of them. Looking forward to your next chapter.

XOXO ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Thanks, Cathy; yeah, it is a hard story to write - I've always said, write what you know. And having lived this before, it makes me hyper-vigilant on my own kids, especially my son, who is open about the fact that he is anti-social, and doesn't know where he sits sexually. Ty lives inside his own head, so we have a very open door policy in our house, and nothing is taboo - not faith, not mental illness, and not sexuality. So when it comes to this story, there are days where I sit there with the document open, and just stare at the screen, before I close it down and simply walk away. I'm glad this chapter gave you hope - I've had a couple of people ask me when Brian is going to "fix" Justin - as Alex said, he can't. It has to be Justin who opens his eyes, and now that he has, he can fix himself. Thanks for sticking with me hon - I appreciate it. xx
