I can see that hug so perfectly in my head with Debbie, and it makes my heart sing happily.

Now Brian needs to ask Justin to move in.

Well, this made me cry, especially the scene with Deb at the end.

I have a friend who became a paraplegic five years ago, and what you have written is so accurate, the grief, the anger, everything.

Chapter heavy on emotions! What a life Brian had and still has. Thanks to Deb and Michael at the beginning and now Justin who is there for him, no matter what.

NNow he just has to get up the nerve to ask Justin to move in. If Justin was as tenacious as he once was he'd have all his things ready to be moved, or have his boxes already outside the apartment door. Thus saving Brian frim asking. I can see Brian's face now. Confusion melting int sheer happiness.

Thanks for always taking the time to review and plant a few ideas in my head. ;)

Still loving this story.  You have done an amazing job with all the feelings and thoughts of Brian adjusting to this huge change in his life.  Can't wait for more

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm glad you're still loving it. This is definitely a very interesting version of Brian to play with...working with canon, and trying to fast forward him into the future but still keep him in character. I'm enjoying it.

Brian's come to a decision that is right for him.  The goodbye was a sad one, but he's got Justin to help him find himself and Ted to take care of his business.

Author's Response:

Kinnetik is definitely in good hands, and Brian will still be very involved, even if from a distance. And yes, this is the right decision, even if it's harder than it seems on the surface.

I didn't wait for the end to cry.  I cried pretty much through most of it and that is a sign of such great writing.  When you can make the reader feel the emotions, you have done a fantastic job.  Can't wait to see where you take our boys from here.  Hoping it is a great ride for both of them.  On a personal note, I have a cousin who has spent his entire life (over 60 years) in a wheelchair and the family has always wondered just how he has done all that he did in his lifetime, but it is as if he never let it affect him.  He is as independent today as he was when he was old enough to start taking care of himself.  He could have a motorized chair, but his comment was "they are for weaklings". So I guess you have to learn to accept what you are given no matter how difficult it is.  Thank you for sharing your amazing ideas for this story.

Author's Response:

Yes, you have to play with the hand you're dealt. I do think it's particularly hard later in life though, like what is happening here with Brian. After you're set in your ways and you have your life established, then it all gets upended. Brian is definitely thankful for his independence in this story, even if he still harbors some bitterness. I'm glad your cousin is doing well!
