It’s now 2019, and Brian Kinney is back in Pittsburgh. He left eight years ago on the eve of his 30th birthday for New York; all that remained in his loft were his clothes, mobile, and a video making his feelings for his family and friends clear. They couldn’t understand where this had come from, all efforts to contact him were rebuffed. Lindsay and Michael were especially devastated, Lindsay wanted to tell him about their baby and Michael was going to take his heart and courage in both hands and profess his love for Brian. 

So why is he back and what does Vic’s nursing assistant Justin Taylor have to do with it? .

Spoilt little rich girl Lindsay Peterson gets everything she wants, when she wants it; but now she has something she doesn't want, a surprise half brother called Justin Taylor, who stands between her and their late father's estate. As well as getting her for a sister, Justin has another problem in the form of his best friend, Michael Novotny. They met in art class where Justin was a teacher's assistant, and became fast and best friends. One drunken night, however, they made a deal that if by the time Justin reached 28 and Michael 35 and if neither of them were in a relationship, they would marry. Speaking of marrying, Lindsay wants to marry her best friend, the gorgeous but repressed Brian Kinney...who Justin takes one look at and wants for himself - who will win? The sister? The brother? Or the wannabe lover?

When Justin gets the opportunity of a lifetime, he accepts the challenge to do President Kinney's portrait. He only has to win over the Head of Security who believes Justin is trouble for the President.

Accidents happen, but some are worse than others. Brian's car gets hit by a blond who doesn't seem to be scared of him.

Justin Taylor and Brian Kinney had a lot in common. They both had to raise themselves. Neither of them had a picture perfect family and by the time they entered college they were on their own. Brian is a private investigator working on an art theft for an insurance company. Justin just moved to Pittsburgh and is now working for Emmett Honeycutt and George Schickle in the Schickle Art Gallery. Brian arranges to meet with Justin, hoping Justin might have heard something working with art.

There are instantaneous sparks when they meet, and the heat between them begins to grow and grow. Will Brian find the art thief? Does Justin have the connections to assist him? Will they be able to focus on the case at hand or will their attraction to each other distract both of them enough to fail.

It’s Devils’ Night and Justin is missing. Brian’s panicked, and Michael’s innocent act is failing miserably…

In response to the ClubQ shooting, I wrote something that I wanted to share.

AU after Season 4. The year Justin turns 23, he and Brian get the news that over the next year he's going to gradually lose all of his hearing. The series tracks the next years of their life as they manage their new reality, after-effects of the bashing, their eventual move to New York, and their ever-evolving relationship. Told in first-person chapters from their points of view and some outsiders, with some angst, a lot of hurt/comfort, and loads of humor. Never any big relationship drama, always disability-positive, and no one ever takes themselves too seriously.

Who would you be if you had no memory of who you were?     

Begins during the Rage launch party in 220. Much of Brian may seem out of character here, because... well... who is Brian, really?  

NOTE: Please remember that literary license is being taken with the factual aspect of the medical diagnosis of amnesia here. Although Transient Global Amnesia is a factual diagnosis, it is usually of very short duration, and quite rare, no matter what television and stories try to make of it. My interpretation, since this is fiction, is a bit longer than medically factual.

On the night of Brian's proposal at the country manor, Justin learns a surprising truth. Exactly why did Brian change so dramatically after the bombing? Something very strange, and cracky, this way comes, folks. Not really an ounce of angst in sight. Leans heavily on "Britin" dialogue from the show, with a twist.

This is dedicated to Tagsit, since her new story Earth Boys are Easy got this weird little bunny - which was cranked out in a couple of hours! eek - running around in my head.    

Intent on learning a new skill, Justin asks Brian to give him lessons on how to give a blow job. Apparently Brian tastes better than a carrot. Funny and playful at times, the way they are when no one is watching.
